Poetry can help make sense of the world by providing fresh perspectives on life’s many challenges.

My role as community poet means that when I am not at my desk, I am out and about meeting people and sharing my passion for poetry. I regularly deliver classes and workshops in both adult and primary education settings. Keep an eye on this page for news of upcoming classes in the area or if you would be interested in workshops for your class or writing group you can contact me here.

I have many years experience delivering adult poetry classes both in South Dublin and North Wicklow, partnering with Wicklow County Libraries and teaching a beginners poetry, evening class at Cabinteely Adult Education. I also deliver standalone workshops to local writing groups and most recently have undertaken primary school residencies in Bray and Blackrock.

My philosophy on poetry is that, like all artforms, it should be for everyone! Reading and writing poetry should be first and foremost a pleasurable pursuit. I know some are intimidated by the thought of poetry and this is probably down to having to learn poems in school for the purpose of examination. But poetry can be part of your everyday routine, it can provide a satisfying artistic outlet and it can help make sense of the world by providing fresh perspectives on life’s many challenges.
